Description

Fuel is sprayed into a chamber, squeezed, ignited to give a burst of energy that pushes the piston around, and the resulting exhaust is pumped out the other end. All good so far? Great! With so many machines powered by 2-stroke fuel, especially garden equipment, knowing how to correctly mix it is essential. Another benefit is it’s incredibly long storage life of up to 5 years! Our workshop has definitely noticed a deterioration in the quality of fuel in recent years which has led to more and more machines coming in with fuel faults. We’ve seen cases where petrol has separated inside machines in less than a month of being bought from the pump. With Stihl’s MotoMix you don’t need to worry and has the added advantage of not having to drain your machines before winter or a long period of non use. Aspen 2 (premixed at 50:1 with a premium quality biodegradable 2-stroke oil) is suitable for chainsaws, clearing saws, hedge trimmers, power cutters and other land-based 2-stroke engines.

MotoMix uses STIHL HP ultra-premium oil for exceptional engine lubrication and extreme cleanliness. It is fully synthetic and biodegradable, providing optimal performance and long service life. MotoMix is user- and engine-friendly due to fewer emissions, being free from ethanol, almost no olefins and aromatic compounds. It can be kept in storage for up to five years. Allow the trimmer to warm up for several seconds, then squeeze the throttle trigger to adjust the speed. Did you know that while we use the term “2 stroke” in Australia, it is referred to as “2 cycle” is used in other parts of the world. Petrol is also known as “gas” or “gasoline” so a 2 cycle oil ratio chart and a gas oil ratio chart both are the same as a 2 stroke mixing chart. Benefits of a 2 Stroke Engine After pouring the 2 stroke oil into the fuel in the can, shake vigorously, and pour the 2 stroke mix into your fuel tank. Avoid trying to mix the 2 stroke fuel directly inside your engine’s fuel tank. It is too hard to shake the 2 stroke mix thoroughly through and unnecessary effort.Simply find the ratio which is correct for your machine, which in this case is 40:1, and pour the petrol up to the first marker, and the oil up to the second. We highly recommend using Aspen fuel in your garden machinery, particularly occasional use equipment. It has a much longer shelf life of 4-5 years compared to regular pump unleaded fuel, which will begin deteriorating after just 1-2 months! It will help prevent break downs due to stale fuel. stroke fuel mix chart from Husqvarna will help you calculate exactly how many parts fuel you need for every part oil. It’s a really handy table to print out so you can keep your 2 stroke mix ratios in your shed so you can refer to it each time you refuel. Aspen 2 is virtually free from harmful substances such as benzene, aromatic hydrocarbons or olefins; substances that can cause serious health problems. Aspen Alkylate Petrol also keeps the spark plugs and combustion chamber of your machine cleaner. Aspen Alkylate Petrol contains no ethanol, meaning it can be stored for a long time without any deterioration in quality, which makes your engine easy to start even after long standstill periods. There are numerous environmental benefits, such as reducing the formation of ground-level ozone (smog) by about 40%. Vikings MotoPlus fuel has the same great benefits that MotoMix has except it is not a 2 stroke mixture and is designed for 4 stroke engines and specifically small ones. This fuel is virtually benzene free so is also not only good to the machine but also good to the environment as well. As well as improving the service life and performance of the machines it has the same great storage life of 5 years again giving you peace of mind when it comes to fuel issues over periods of non use.

Two-stroke engines areperfectfor this type ofmachinery because they have a higher power-to-weight ratiothan four-stroke motors. Your first step should always be to refer to your user manual to find out what the required ratio of fuel and oil is for the machine in question.

Regular gas doesn’t have a lubricant, thus causing so much friction and serious wear & tear in the engine. As a result, the fuel scores the piston and cylinder, causing them to lose compression until your engine is unable to run again. This is different from a 4 stroke engine which requires four strokes of the piston to complete a power cycle during two crankshaft revolutions. The best thing about the 50 to 1 ratio is that it is so each to calculate! To work out this 2 stroke ratio, all you need to do is multiply the litre amount by 2 and add a zero.
