The church where the expedition crew is hiding burns down. Ollie rescues Lettis Slingsbury, and the crew and the Twisted Kids return from the expedition. Anthony Sullivan - One of Bam's rugby friends, he has a twin named Damien and is considered a tough guy and fighter. The Tower kids rescue a girl named Tish, who is from St. Paul's Cathedral. Small Sam plans to escape from the Tower of London. The books don’t just follow one after the other – the events of the second book actually happen before the first, and several of the others run in parallel, so you end up with a really full and clear idea of what’s going on at any one time.

The weather is sunny. DogNut's group leave by boat along the Thames, their boat sinks just next to Parliament and they meet Nicola's group at the Palace of Westminster. They encounter Carl of The Squatters and Ryan Aherne's group of hunters, who save them from the Gym Bunnies and give them better directions. Well I really like writing for The Kid because he’s sort of half-nuts. I can have fun with language and references. Quite a lot of the characters in the books have syndromes but they’re not spelled out, so I have this idea that The Kid has this condition that he remembers every little thing people have said to him. He stores up all these phrases and lines of information in his head and then it all comes spewing out, even if he doesn’t necessarily understand it all. His brain is wired differently. He’s a lot of fun to write, and I can put in references to things I like such as Captain Beefheart songs. Days 6-15 - Many days of Ella screaming, one day Ella recovers and follows Malik around farm, goes hunting in Legoland, weather is raining and misty and grey in morning. Ella sees other kids with Malik another day.Day 5 - Shadowman, Ben and Bernie look for bombs, Shadowman sleeps at Trafalgar, Mr. Three broadcasts signal. Big Nose/Andy- One of the red uniformed kids, he earns his name for his big nose. He is revealed to be quite friendly, if a little grumpy and dislikes his job and David, but prefers it to the blandness of gardening. April 24th: Day 7 / Day 5 of The Enemy / Day 2 of Geeks vs Zombies / Day 1 of The Fallen. Two weeks since Paul Channing was bitten. [10] Dan- An IKEA kid who seems more reasonable than Saif. He introduces himself to Shadowman when he wakes up. The infected Greg Thorne finds a vest with Saint George on it at a destroyed tourist stand. He dons the vest and renames himself "Saint George".

Arran Harper • Big Sam • Callum • Curly Sam • Deke • Eve • Freak • Johnno • Josh • Katey • Lila • Louise • Maeve • Mohammed • Monkey Boy Chris Marker, a former student of Rowhurst, begins to write an account of what has happened since the infection. He titles this epic The Chronicles of Survival.

Damien Sullivan - Another of Bam's rugby friends, he is Anthony's brother and is very strong and tough. The CDC, Promithios Biomedical, and other health organizations recognize the disease before most, if not all, of their researchers are infected. The Collector - One of the main villains in The Fear, he is a large fat father with a beard, who collects children and tortures them, to the point of killing them, then disfigures them to make them in to decoys Ollie - A red haired boy, he is very intelligent and is described as a good shot with his sling shot. He is in charge of ranged fighters known as the Skirmishers. He is fifteen at the end of The Enemy, with his birthday the following day.

The disease has a level of intelligence that is impossible for such a small creature to have. Being an alien organism, we do not know how smart the disease is on its own, but there are some potential explanations. This is a list of characters from Charlie Higson's The Enemy series. Characters have been categorised by their groups and dead characters/deaths of those characters have not been listed to avoid spoilers, although some spoilers do remain. The researchers who were first infected would go on to have the Twisted Kids, who were born mutated as a result of being born with the disease. It is suggested that this was an experiment by the disease to merge human cells with its own. The disease warped the minds of the researchers to hide the children away, and thus keep its existence a secret. After it infected the human population, the disease entered a hibernation state and stopped spreading. Kate - Tom's girlfriend, she too complains a lot and carries a sword. She also goes on Jester's exploration mission. Natural Immunity: The Inmathger are presumably immune to the disease, as they had lived with it for thousands of years and were able to build up an immunity to it before it reached the strength it had in The Enemy. A few of the surviving children, such as Small Sam, were born with an immunity to the disease and their resistances are key to making a cure.

The kids from the Houses of Parliament mostly vote on things and their leaders and have little fighters, relying mostly on the hunters. It is shown that they rarely leave the confines of the Houses, and they have some knowledge of what lies within the No Go Zone. How much planning do you do for all your books? I ask as this series is one of the more intricately plotted series I’ve read, playing about with time frames and perspectives… David didn't appear care what happened to others as long as he could achieve his own objectives. He was also quite delusional, as he thought that the shambling Royal Family could help him get support to rule London. David pompously expected people to do as he said and cared incredibly about his image, shown during the duel between Achilleus and Just John, he begins to make a speech and protests when the fight begins before he can even get started. He constantly lost his temper when things did not go his way, or if people assumed correct things about him that he simply didn't believe. He was also very petty, as he was bent on making life hell for Brooke for leaving him and his group at Lambeth Bridge. [4] The students of Rowhurst School are effectively quarantined in the school. Nineteen boys are holed up in School House dormitory. [5] Ten days before the first chapter of The Dead, Matthew Palmer and fourteen other boys hole up in the school chapel. [6] Tommy - A boy who was thought to be being healed by Dr. Catell. It is later discovered that he was being eaten alive while being preserved by medicine.

Persephone - A girl from a group based in Notting Hill during the early days of the outbreak, which initially also contained Jester, Shadowman, Rose and Anita. She teaches Jester how to make patchwork from the pieces of clothing of dead kids, starting with her sister. Jester continues this tradition after she is killed. Courtney- Courtney is one of the survivors of the boat crash and is also best friends with Brooke. She has grown a crush on DogNut over the last year and is only going on the adventure to get some time with DogNut relatively alone. Buzz Cut - A boy with a buzz cut and no front teeth, who informs Ed about Mad Matt's religion, and that Bozo came from it. It is possible that he is the character below, having shaved. In the climax of The End, Saint George's army is killed and burned, preventing the disease from spreading or reproducing, Small Sam's blood acts as a cure, ensuring the disease can have no new hosts and will eventually go extinct in London. [4] Symptoms and Other Affects Stages Harry Ryan - Harry is one of Matt's Acolytes, and is good at drawing, but can't spell very well. He drew the banner for Matt's religion. It is not made clear if he survived and made it to St. Paul's or died at Lambeth Bridge.
