In the old module, the abbreviation of the chosen city remained visible (like NYC), but where you are will be something you’ll remember yourself and hasn’t to be kept in the display in my opinion. This feature, of permanent availability of the home time in the display, shows in the stopwatch and timer mode as well. StopwatchI have to say I’m firmly in the camp that the 3495 is a huge improvement over the previous modules. I wasn’t even interested in one of the Squares until I discovered Casio had upgraded the module. Is it clear?– it should be easy to “get” the design and to read the time. Here, some watches with a crowded dial can still qualify if the design is perfect.

In many countries, it also sets itself automatically to summer and winter time. Elapsed time, split time and final time are measured with 1/100-sec accuracy. The watch can measure times of up to 24 hours. The feature of permanent displaying the home time sacrificed the stopwatch somewhat. It still runs to a maximum of 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds, but the old module offered 1/100 of a second for the full maximum duration of the stopwatch. With the new module, 1/100 of a second is only available for the first hour (59′ 59” 99”’), thereafter the maximum accuracy is one second. For me, the permanent availability of the time in the display is way more usable. Alarms and Timer Personally, I like this watch. It looks to be well made, and for myself it's comfortable to wear. If you are looking for a Casio classic style watch I would think this is a good choice.As for myself I normally use watches for time and date only. I rarely use the extra features in these watches as like the timers, and the alarms. I use my smart phone for those types of things. Perfect for free diving without scuba gear: the watch is water resistant up to 20 bar according to ISO 22810.
