Wheelbarrows are not complicated tools, but using one incorrectly can cause strain and pain. These tips will help you use your wheelbarrow safely: For most homeowners, we recommend the Garden Star 5 Cubic-Feet Yard Rover. During testing, it earned top scores for being very easy to maneuver, comfortable to push and pull, steady over all types of terrain, and relatively easy to assemble. But if you need a heavy-duty steel wheelbarrow for toting big loads of very heavy materials, we recommend the Kobalt 7 Cubic-Feet Wheelbarrow, a beast of a wheelbarrow that we still found to be easy to maneuver and push over all types of terrain, as well as easy to lift and dump. Other Options We Tested This design, coupled with the PVC wheels means a smooth and comfortable ride and of course, we can’t forget the super comfortable adjustable handle. The great thing about camping trolleys is that they come in a brilliant range of sizes. It is important to think about what you will be transporting and buy something that fits in with your needs.

Face the wheelbarrow in the direction you’ll be traveling before loading it. This makes it easier to get going without having to maneuver or twist. The one downside to this wheelbarrow is its handle, which is molded into the body, rather than extending outwards as with most other wheelbarrows. While the handle did make it easier to lift the wheelbarrow for dumping the bags of mulch, which we accomplished with no strain or pain, it wasn't very comfortable on our hands, so you'll definitely want to put on gardening gloves before heading out to the garden. At 45 pounds, this isn't an especially light wheelbarrow, but its large capacity means fewer trips to haul your landscaping materials out to the yard. What’s more, some trolleys will come with a cover which is great if you are transporting items in bad weather. Load WeightIf you need a sturdy workhorse to carry big loads of landscaping materials, then you'll like this 8.75 cubic-feet plastic wheelbarrow from Rubbermaid as much as we do. We loved that no assembly was required, and the two 20-inch wheels are flat-free, so require no filling with air, nor worrying about a flat tire. Plus, they roll very smoothly over all types of terrain. We loaded this beast with four heavy bags of mulch and headed out to our obstacle course. It is also important to think about the weight of the trolley. Can it easily be lifted into your boot? Much of this will be to do with the type of materials it is constructed from so it is worth once again considering the frame. You also don’t want something that is so big and cumbersome that once filled, it becomes almost impossible to pull along. Wheels The frame of the trolley will typically be made from either aluminium or steel. Both of these metals offer great durability but aluminium will generally be more lightweight. However, the compromise here is that it may warp slightly easier than steel. If you’re looking for something more heavy duty, we would recommend steel. But for those who need a lightweight trolley for a few essential items, aluminium is the way forward.

Load the wheelbarrow as evenly as possible, placing as much of the weight as you can over the wheel. This will help keep it balanced while you travel. One other hiccup we noted was when we tried pushing the two bags of mulch out at the end of our test—we weren't able to tip the wheelbarrow far enough for them to fall out on their own. Still, overall the wheelbarrow's performance was excellent, and at only 26 pounds, it's lightweight enough for just about any gardener to use with ease. Plus, it is easy to store upright when not in use.

As with anything, you will likely have a budget in mind for your camping trolley. Our advice would be to spend as much as you comfortably can. While it can be very tempting to choose a camping trolley that comes with an attractive price tag, this doesn’t always mean that you will be getting the best deal. Camping trolleys come in different sizes, as we have already seen but this doesn’t determine how much they are able to comfortably carry in terms of weight. It is essential to look at the loading capacity of the trolley because if you try to overload it then the result will be you standing in the middle of a field with a broken trolley. Nobody wants that! The trolley is easy to manoeuvre thanks to the castor-style 360-degree swivel front wheels, which also feature a safety brake. The trolley bed is made of 600D Oxford fabric and PVC, is easy to remove and clean, and is durable and tear-resistant. The trolley comes in a choice of colours so if you’re conscious about your style while camping, this is a good option. Furthermore, the RUNOLIG features a good brake system and comfortable handle for easy use. If you are looking for a camping trolley that is going to offer value for money, you need to be careful that you don’t get ripped off with an inferior product. But that isn’t the case with the RUNOLIG trolley. While it does come in at a much more affordable cost, it has some great features that make it a worthy contender for being the best.
