Fully charges in an hour and a half, but a 15-minute charge provides enough boost to "get you through a long workout or marathon call" Named after their easy, breezy all-day comfort and their lightweight titanium frame, AfterShokz Air headphones offer high-performance sound quality and a stylish look at an affordable price. Features like patented bone conduction technology and an updated design style make Air the perfect choice for athletes or everyday people looking to stay aware of their surroundings without compromising on performance. Shokz quotes a battery life of around six hours for the OpenMove (the same as the Air, and two hours less than the OpenRun. In our tests, this seemed to hold true – and is perhaps a modest estimate. A full charge lasted us closer to seven hours. These are best used with the headphones’ earplug mode, which lowers the volume reduces the bass significantly, compensating for the effect of closing your ear canals (sounds transmitted through bone conduction always sound deeper, and with earplugs you’re not hearing any ‘leaking’). Vocal booster mode, on the other hand, boosts the higher frequencies.

Standby time is also good—AfterShokz claims up to 20 days of standby time, which again seems a bit conservative. After leaving a Titanium headset off the charger for a week, it still registered 90 percent charge. A fully discharged headset requires a bit less than two hours to completely charge. AfterShokz lists "six hours of continuous music + calls on a single charge" for the Air and Titanium models alike. I easily exceeded that in my testing, with the charge level going down about 10 percent per hour while listening to podcast after podcast on long car trips. The Air and the Titanium are also helpful with home school craziness—my wife can listen for questions and/or shenanigans from kids while podcasting, audiobooking, or taking calls, and my daughter finds them significantly better for class interviews and required multimedia consumption than the traditional headsets all three kids already had. The Good

The AfterShokz Trekz Air is a slimmed down bone-conduction headphone that offers improved sound and is very comfortable to wear, leaving your ears open to hear the outside world. It works well as a headset for making cell-phone call and comes with a nice carrying pouch. Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the power/volume+ button for 5-7 seconds. Audrey will say “Welcome to Titanium! (or Aeropex, or Air)" and then “pairing” and the LED light will then flash red and blue. The AfterShokz Trekz Air are headphones for a very specific user, someone that wants to be able to listen to music or podcasts but needs to be fully aware of their surroundings. I think this makes the headphones great for those that do outdoor sports such as running or cycling as they allow you to listen to music but also be safe and allow you to have additional situational awareness in comparison to what a standard pair of headphones or earbuds would give you. The headphones have a niche audience, but perform well at what they set out to do. Most importantly, they stay out of your ears completely—which is the big feature that drove me to buy them on an experimental basis in the first place. AfterShokz headphones don't leave you with sore or sweaty ears after hours of continuous use. The comfort factor isn't perfect—I find myself wanting to wiggle the headphones around a little after three or more hours—but it's a definite improvement. OpenFit design allows you to tune in to your music or a call without tuning out the world around youThese are also so minimal looking that they aren’t immediately noticed on people wearing them as the thin frame helps make them blend better without drawing significant attention to themselves. As you might expect, it's also possible to take hands-free calls on the Trekz Air. For that particular feature, each speaker comes equipped with noise canceling microphones to lessen ambient noise during calls to make voices as clear as possible. Performance Unlike the Titanium, the 20% decrease in overall weight makes these so incredibly comfortable that you almost forget you are wearing them! These headphones new, organic, wraparound design is about 20% lighter than previous Titanium version which allows a more flexible fit. This leads to a more unnoticeable comfort and stability for wearing. They cut away bulk and utilized titanium where they could to fit more securely and increase sound quality. The Trekz Air products were inspired due to the needs and requirements of elite athletes who are wanting to bring music into their world.

All of our headphones come with a user guide, but sometimes those little booklets can be misplaced or thrown away. Not to worry! There’s still plenty of ways you can learn how to pair your Aeropex or mute the mic on your Air. In your second device’s Bluetooth settings, select the Titanium (or whatever model you're using). Audrey will say "Connected" or “Device 2 Connected.” I found the immersion of the headphones to be fantastic. As the headphones sit around your ears, the sound is also coming in from around your ears, not from within your ears, so the stereo listening experience is quite fantastic as it sounds like the music is around you. I found the volume to be good for my use-case, listening at around 50-60% although I could see the possibility of some users wanting a little more headroom if they are in a noisy environment. They might be a unique proposition, but the Trekz Air are no heavyweight; they weigh a mere 30g. However, the soft silicon covering together with the careful positioning of the electronics means that the Trekz Air tend to stay in one place, however active. In fact, they barely move whatever it is you're doing. They offer 4 different color combinations which fit the normal combos: Blue, Red, Green and grey. Battery Life The AfterShokz Trekz Air is a very likable sports headphone, particularly for people who want a secure fitting headphone that doesn't cover or prod their ears. When you want to disable Bluetooth multipoint, press and hold the multi-function and volume up buttons for 3 seconds. The voice prompt will say,
