We are going for a very similar four-step process as the blue: Base coat, Highlight, Shade, Highlight. Warpstone Glow: This bright green paint can be used to create an analogous color scheme with Carroburg Crimson, providing a contrast between the green and red hues. It can be used to highlight areas where the crimson has been applied. These guys are practically made for Contrast. You can almost smoosh them faster than building them. Green can be added in tiny amounts to desaturate the colour mix if it becomes too bright, counteracting the reds. For fresh cuts I start with Blood for the Blood God, thinned until smooth with water (1:1 or 1:2 depending on the age of your paint). A fine line will work will for a shallow cut, while a little blotch is good for an impact or scrape. I say lighter skin tones because with darker skin, it tends to work better to start with the brown color. If you start with brown and highlight up by mixing in Cadian Fleshtone, you’ll get a nice light-ish warm brown tone. You can also use white to mix in as a highlight. I would not recommend using red or yellow alone as highlights. Red is a strong color and will make things red if used alone, and not much yellow works its way into highlights because most ambient light has a cold, whitish hue, which we’ll go into more detail on later.

Paint the upper edge of the coils pure white, by running the edge of the brush over the top edge at about 45 degrees. Apply some more thinned purple ink over everything once more. Apply neat purple ink in the recesses of the glowing area to fake the shadows. Next, we magically cut to a stage where the armor and skin look better. Pay attention to the skin tones. The shadows have been further darkened with purples, reds, and browns, while the highlights have been further brightened with creams and greens. The skin itself is less desaturated thanks to green ink, which is transparent and allows us to tint the color gradient underneath. The wound on the stomach (along with several other points of interest on the skin) has been darkened (reddened) to look inflamed and highlighted with bright pink spots. Gross! Once you have the glaze mixed, use a small brush to put just a little bit of the paint on the tip. Since the paint is so wet with thinner, if there’s too much paint on the brush it will run and we wont have the kind of control we want.
