Description

We are all in this world together to help each other and learn from what others have learned from their lives journey. Fireside has done an excellent job with My First Castle Panic, distilling the game down to its most fundamental parts. Dad Suggests was created to share with others the many different things that we have loved sharing with our own children. My First Castle Panic is a cooperative tower (castle) defense game for 1-4 players ages 4+ that plays in just 20 minutes. Contents: Game Board; Castle Piece; Wall Piece; 26 Castle Cards; 16 Monster Tokens; 4 How-to-Play Cards; Rulesheet.

Rolling a dice, and moving a number of spaces with zero skill and being fully at the whims of the luck of a dice, where being about to win could turn into being last just because you rolled the wrong number and that kind of game can easily cause a feeling that board games are something that are just based on pure luck.Taking a more light-hearted spoon to the tower defense game, it was my hope that this could be a good progression from some of the HABA Games we’ve been playing together. If the active player does not have a card they can use, they can ask for help, which allows another player to play a card in the active player’s place. I’m good with that, and I know we’ll be upgrading him to standard Castle Panic when he’s old enough. That’s why I was beyond excited to see the news that Fireside Games and Justin De Witt were coming out with My First Castle Panic.

On a player’s turn, they first must draw a card and then can either play a card from their own hand or ask another player to help by playing one of their cards. I wish that it was a double-sided board with a slightly longer track for when The Daughter gets a little older. Even though our 6-year-old is able to play the original Castle Panic with me, the strategy and the duration of that game is always pushing his limits just a tiny bit. That way there are two paths for the goblins, two castles for them to destroy, and much more importance placed on playing all of your cards correctly.

Manage to clear the pile of monsters before they reach the castle and you win, have both the wall and the castle reached by the monsters and you lose.Join the community and come discuss games like Codenames, Wingspan, Brass, and all your other favorite games! Every single space is marked by a color (red, blue, or green) and a shape (circle, square, or triangle). If you stop all 16 of them (sending them back to the game box, which is cleverly designed as a dungeon to house the defeated goblins), you win. I try to hang back and let them decide on strategies, deciding which monster is the best one to capture with a card.
