In the hopes that we all may be blessed with the ability to truly understand patience, here is what the Holy Quran says about this act of worship: 1. The Reward for Those Who Do Good Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods, lives, and the fruits of your toil. But give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Those who say, when afflicted with calamity, ‘To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return.’ They are those on whom descend blessings from their Lord, and mercy. They are the ones who receive guidance” (Quran, 2:155-157) And they ask you about menstruation. Say, “It is harm, so keep away from wives during menstruation. And do not approach them until they are pure. And when they have purified themselves, then come to them from where Allah has ordained for you. Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves.}( 2:222) Those Who Purify Themselves Sahl bin Sa’d As-Sa’idi (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, guide me to such an action which, if I do Allah will love me and the people will also love me.” He (ﷺ) said, “Have no desire for this world, Allah will love you; and have no desire for what people possess, and the people will love you.” [Ibn Majah] Riyad As Salihin Arabic/English book reference : Book 1, Hadith 472

The third cause of man's love of Allah is his contemplation of the beautiful Attributes of Allah, His Power and Wisdom, of which human power and wisdom are but the feeblest reflections. The Quran also tells us here that by showing patience and prayer, this can be a sign that we are truly trusting in Allah’s decisions and will. By committing ourselves to accept our fates – whatever it may be – we can help ourselves grow in faith and as Muslims. 10. Allah Will Test Us All It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: the Prophet said: “A woman may be married for four things: Her wealth, her lineage, her beauty or for her religion. Choose the religious, may your hands be rubbed with dust (i.e., may you prosper).” Ibn Majah Grade : Sahih (Darussalam) English reference : Vol. 3, Book 9, Hadith 1858 Arabic reference : Book 9, Hadith 1931 There is so much barakah in sponsoring an orphan, The Prophet (saw) raised his index finger and middle finger and said: ' I and the sponsor of an orphan will be like these two (fingers) together in Paradise'.They are] avid listeners to falsehood, devourers of [what is] unlawful. So if they come to you, [O Muhammad], judge between them or turn away from them. And if you turn away from them – never will they harm you at all. And if you judge, judge between them with justice. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly .” (Quran5:42) Allah said: ‘O son of Adam! I shall go on forgiving you so long as you pray to Me and aspire for My forgiveness whatever may be your sins. O son of Adam! I do not care even if your sins should pile up to the sky and should you beg pardon of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam! If you come to Me with an Earth-full of sins and meet Me, not associating anything with Me in worship, I will certainly grant you as much pardon as will fill the earth’ (At-Tirmidhi). Expressing Our Love for God The first cause is man's love for himself and his drive to perfect his own creation. This leads directly to loving Allah because man's very existence and attributes are but the gift of Allah whose grace and kindness have brought man from behind the curtain of non-existence into this visible world. Man's preservation and eventual attainment of perfection are also entirely dependent upon Allah's grace. It would indeed be a wonder if one should take refuge from the heat of the Sun under the shadow of a tree and not be grateful to the tree, without which there would be no shadow at all. On precisely the same way, were it not for Allah, man would have neither existence nor attributes at all.

Muhaasabah– use tests as an opportunity for self-assessment; are there things you can do better next time? Are there habits or characteristics you need to change? We are reminded there is light, there is always hope. That the days come and go, and with every sunrise is the new opportunity to do good, to grow, to change. There is hope that things won’t always be the same, so look forward to everything that is yet to come. The love of Allah should occupy man's heart and get total possession of it; and if it does not seize it entirely, it should at least outweigh the love of all other things in it. Allah Says about the believers, (what means): "He loves them and they love Him," [Quran 5:54] and the Prophet said: " A man would not have attained faith until and unless he loves Allah and His Messenger more than anything else." (Al-Bukhari) When angel of death came to take the soul of Prophet Ibraheem the latter said, "Have you ever seen a friend take his friend's life?" To that, Allah replied, "Have you ever seen a friend unwilling to see his friend?" Then Ibraheem said, "O Angel of death! Take my soul!" The Prophet taught the following supplication to his Companions, "O Allah, allow me to love You and to love those who love You, and to love whatsoever brings me nearer to Your love, and make Your love more precious to me than cold water to the thirsty." (At-Tirmithi)Abdullah ibn Mas’ud said, ‘I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, “Which of the deeds is most beloved to Allah?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Performing the prayer at its prescribed, fixed time.” I asked, “What next?” He replied, “Dutifulness to the parents.” I asked, “What next?” He replied, “Jihad (striving) in the Cause of Allah.” Had I asked him for more, he would have told me.’ [ Bukhari ]

The beloved Prophet (saw) does not want any of his Ummah to enter the fire and will do his utmost to intercede for every member of his Ummah. Islamic Relief provides an opportunity to help support orphans through their orphan sponsorship programme . The sponsorship is an effective way of giving that sets up a connection between the donor and a vulnerable orphan. The donor will receive an annual update on how their support is assisting the sponsored child and their family. Although Allah’s love is extended throughout creation, there are some people with positive characteristics that are specifically praised by Allah s.w.t. They are mentioned in the Quran such as; Al-Mutawakkilin (Those who rely on Allah), As-Sabirin (Those who are patient), Al-Muttaqin (Those who are mindful of Allah), At-Tawwabin (Those who repent). In the eyes of Allah, to sincerely pardon and forgive is to trust Allah as well. We must trust that Allah Sees everything, and remember that the only One worthy enough to judge our actions is Allah Himself – we must therefore forgive and trust that Allah will always reward us for what we deserve. 5. Do we not love to be forgiven by Allah?Narrated Al-Miqdam ibn Ma’dikarib: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a man loves his brother, he should tell him that he loves him. Grade : Sahih (Al-Albani) : Reference : Sunan Abi Dawud 5124 In-book reference : Book 43, Hadith 352 Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that Allah said: “I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshipper of mine. And the most beloved things with which My slave comes nearer to Me, is what I have enjoined upon him; and My worshipper keeps on coming close to Me through performing Nawafil (praying or doing extra deeds besides what is obligatory) till I love him, then I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hands with which he grips, and his legs with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My protection (refuge), I will protect him.” [Al-Bukhari]. Inshallah you will be given so much love one day that you will forget about any heartbreaks you suffered. Pray and be Patient.

Another group of people Allah says He loves, are those who are “steadfast” (Qur’an 3:146 ) in patience and perseverance. The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked, "What deeds are loved most by Allah?" He said, "The most regular constant And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.” (Quran 2:195) We have not created the heavens and the earth and everything in between except for a purpose. And the Hour is certain to come, so forgive graciously.” (Quran 15:85) Guard yourself from the Hellfire, even with half of a date in charity. If one cannot find it, then with a kind word.” [ Bukhari ]
