Description

If you’re looking for a powerful vacuum cleaner that can be relied upon to clean both wet and dry surfaces, you’d be hard pressed to find a better solution than George the Hoover. George is a great all-in-one vacuum that is more than adequate at cleaning both dry and wet surfaces. Due to his extra-long hose and useful adapters, George is great for cleaning all types of surfaces, including carpets, hard floors, upholstery, stairs and the car. He also is the only vacuum in the Numatic range that has a shampoo facility, so if you want a carpet cleaner as well as a hard floor wet vacuum cleaner, George is a great option.

The head of the family, Henry is certainly the most well known cleaner from the range. First introduced in 1981, Henry’s smiling face has been helping people to clean their homes ever since. Traditionalists will tell you this is the best Henry you can get, and if you’re looking for a reliable and affordable vacuum it’s hard to argue with this view. There’s actually two main models of this Henry, the Henry Hoover 160-11 and the Henry Hoover 200-11. The main difference between the two is the 160-11 has a bag capacity of six litres, whilst the 200-11 has a larger capacity at 9 litres. The Henry vacuum cleaner range covers a number of price points. The more expensive models, like the George, do more things than the models that don’t cost as much. Adversely, the cheapest Henry Vacuum is likely to be the original version. You would think that you paid less for less dustbin capacity (like what you get with the James, where you sacrifice dustbin space for storage) but this isn’t the case. What is a Class Rating? An additional versatility with the Henry range are the bags. You can use the same set of bags throughout the majority of their machines. The wet and dry, the pet hair, and the larger models all use a one-size-fits-all-capacities bag. It makes it easier to shop. Durability & Reliability

Henry Vacuum Range Buyer’s Guide

Edward EVR370 - Larger red vacuum with a 15-litre capacity that was also available in blue, green and yellow, now discontinued. Everyone struggling with storage space needs to consider size limitations before they buy from the Henry vacuum cleaner range. The smaller models will work best for smaller homes – but come with less dust bin capacity. We recommend the Henry Micro for smaller homes. The largest of the Henry vacuums is the George, which is a 4-in-1… although the Charles comes close. Colour & Style Henry Hound HHR200 - A Henry with an electric rotating brush, specialised for pet owners with a carbon filter. It came in green and was partially succeeded by Harry, which has an air-driven turbine head. In 1981 "Henry" became the first Numatic International model to have a name on its cap. [3] [4] Henry was also one of the first vacuums to use large-capacity microfibre dust bags known as HEPA-FLO bags, made of a material that retains dust and is stronger than the paper usually used, which can tear. [2] Bored office cleaners were talking to Henry in night shifts. From then sales took off. While Numatic are careful never to use the trade name, Henry was often informally called, alliteratively, the "Henry hoover". Duncan commented "We turned an inanimate object into an animate object". Since the introduction of Henry in 1981, at least 10 million units had been sold worldwide by 2017. [2] [5] In 2021 sales were increasing by a million units per year. [1]

Goodbye Harry..... Sadly Harry's days are numbered with the recent release of the 'Henry Pet' which has the same tools and features as Harry. Cordless vacuums have become increasingly popular, so it’s no surprise Numatic have a cordless version of the Henry. It has many of the same features as the corded version, but comes with a 36V battery and is one of the few cordless vacs to have a bagged design. James is just like a Henry but often retails for a little less. He usually comes in Yellow but more recently he is Blue. He has a good head on his shoulders... very handy for carrying cleaning supplies, cloths or tools. James has a fixed cable instead of the cable rewind that you find on Henry and Hetty. This means that he is more lightweight, but the the cable has to be wrapped away manually and stored on top when not in use. George GVE370 - George replaced Nuvac NVE3, the All in One Carpet Cleaner. Originally released with a plastic toolkit in 1989 and in green up until 1992, it was later changed to stainless steel. Unlike Charles, He comes with many more tools. He can also pump shampoo from his internal tank. The Carpet and Upholstery tools spray out the shampoo and extract at the same time. Giving your fabrics a deep clean with reduced drying times.

Henry Allergy

Aside from the cordless design, it has a 6 litre capacity (which is huge for a cordless), power boost mode, and HepaFlo bags. Like other Henry models, it comes with several tools, such as a crevice nozzle and dusting brush. The bagged design also means it could be a good choice for those with allergies. Alas, there is no choice. All of the Henry vacuum cleaners in the range are floor vacuums. That just means that they don’t stand upright, and that they roll around on the floor on wheels. You drag the vacuum along behind you while you use the hose.

Quality replacement hose assemblies for Henry hoovers, restore full suction to your Henry with our range of spares. Since its launch, the Henry range has become something of an icon in the cleaning world. Although features vary from model to model there are some common ones that include:

George is comfortably the most powerful vacuum cleaner from Numatic’s Henry Hoover range, and with great power comes great suction. George is more powerful than the rest of the Henry family because he needs the extra power when being used in wet cleaning mode, to allow him to clean effectively. The Henry Eco is very similar to other 6-litre Henry models, with the key difference being an energy-efficient motor – 420W compared with 620W. Reducing the motor power helps save on energy bills, although the suction power is slightly reduced as a result.
