The speakers on the ThinkPad T480s are average, as far as laptops go. The panel has the model number LP140QH2-SPB1 and is made by LG – one of two possible QHD panels for the T480s, according to a parts list from Lenovo there is an LCD by AUO. Sadly this display is not used here, since it would have made for an interesting comparison. Lenovo does offer a higher-resolution display option, though I did not get the opportunity to set eyes on it. You can upgrade to a WQHD (2,560-by-1,440-pixel) display, which should deliver a crisper image but one that's, perhaps, not any brighter. (The WQHD option, it should be noted, does not include touch-input support.) To my eyes, the FHD resolution suffices for its 14-inch size, and is the right match for that panel measure; images and text look sharp, without any obvious pixelation.
